Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
Forgetless ("we", "us") is a text-message planner for birthdays, reminders, to-dos and calendars. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information we collect
- Account details: your phone number and password. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
- What you add: birthdays and anniversaries (names, dates and any gift notes you write), to-dos and lists, calendar events, reminders, and your settings such as time zone and summary-text schedule.
- Text messages you send us: the content of texts you send to the Forgetless number, and the replies we send, so we can carry out your requests and understand follow-ups (like "make it 3pm"). Photos you text us are read to create events and are not stored.
- Partner link: if you link accounts with a partner, which account you're linked to.
- Google Calendar data, only if you choose to connect it. See the next section.
Google Calendar
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. If you connect it, Forgetless requests read-only access to your calendars (the calendar.readonly permission). We never create, change or delete anything in your Google account.
- What we access: events on your primary calendar for the next 60 days, and your calendar ID (your Google email address), which we show on your dashboard so you know which account is linked.
- What we store: each event's title, date, start and end time, and location, plus Google's event ID so we can keep it up to date. We do not store event descriptions, attendees or attachments.
- How we use it: only to show your Google events in your Forgetless calendar and to include them in the schedule and summary texts you ask for. We refresh them about once an hour.
- What we don't do: we do not sell Google data, use it for advertising, use it to train AI or machine-learning models, or send it to AI providers. People at Forgetless do not read it unless you ask us to for support, or it's needed for security or to comply with the law.
- Disconnecting: go to Settings, then Google Calendar, and choose Disconnect. We revoke our access at Google and delete the imported events and our stored access tokens. You can also remove access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Forgetless's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use your information
- To send the texts you set up: reminders, birthday and anniversary alerts, and summaries.
- To understand and act on texts you send us, such as adding a to-do or answering "what's on this week?".
- To suggest gift ideas when you turn that on for someone.
- To share items with your linked partner when you mark them shared or add them to their list.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Forgetless. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: database and account sign-in.
- Vercel: website and server hosting.
- Twilio: sending and receiving text messages.
- Anthropic (Claude): reading the texts and photos you send us to work out what you want, and writing gift ideas. This never includes Google Calendar data. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- Google: only if you connect Google Calendar.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete items anytime in the app or by text. To delete your account and everything in it, go to Settings and choose Delete account; it happens right away and also disconnects Google. If you can't sign in, email willjoneswjj@gmail.com from any address and include your phone number; we'll confirm by text and delete it within 30 days.
Text messages
Message frequency depends on what you set up. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop all texts, or HELP for help.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers, access tokens stay on our servers, and access to production data is limited. See our Security page for more.
Children
Forgetless isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know by text. Questions? Email willjoneswjj@gmail.com.
